Please see my description of this issue in this thread: Re: VMware Workstation 12 Pro Maximum number of standard virtual Macines error
It is likely you are still hitting the same limit, and running another copy of VMware Workstation might provide a workaround.
Thank you very much!! I think I have a way to solve this problem.
As you said, I'll run another copy of VMware Workstation. Actually, I tried and failed. I found the two windows exactly the same, and after clicking the start button, the red fork appears.
SO the question becomes, how to open two VM instances. Just open 2 VM windows on the desktop? Or, I need to switch windows login as another friend said？
Seems you run an AMD 3970.
Have an urgent question.
I'll like to build a new rig (AMD 3950 or 3960) with more ram than my current intel and run Workstation Pro 15 on it.
Can you please confirm if it is possible to run NESTED VM's in Workstation Pro 15. Some say it can some say it can't because Microsoft does not allow SLAT with AMD.
PC (windows OS)-> VMware Workstation Pro 15 -> Esxi (vm) -> Windows server OS or VMware vRealize Automation (vm) etc.
Like to build en develop / learn VMware products.
Hope you can respond and answer my burning question. Have to move on and pass the 128GB memory limit.
