Vmware 15.5 installation and running issue (Windows 10)

This is my first time using VMware Workstation. I am using the downloaded version from official link here.

OS: Windows 10.

Product/Installer: VMware-workstation-full-15.5.1-15018445.exe

It is a clean installation. The laptop does not have any VMWare install previously.

Tested on "repair" after installation and same issue persist.

Installation steps (all with admin permission):

1) Install vc_redist.x86.exe (Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015, 2017 and 2019)

2) Install vc_redist.x64.exe

3)  run  VMware-workstation-full-15.5.1-15018445.exe for installation

I tested on my working laptop and personal laptop. Both have the same issue.

Installation issue:

Setup cannot copy the file hcmon.sys (manual cancel)

Setup cannot copy the file vmnet.sys (manual cancel)

Setup cannot copy the file vmx86.sys (manual cancel)

C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRVSTORE\ (do my system32 should have hcmon, vmnet and vmx86? Because i couldn't find any from the path it shown)

After installation and start VM.

- VMWare workstation failed to start the VMware Authorization Service. You can try manually start ....

When manual start:

- Window could not start the VMware Authorization Service service on Local Computer.

Error 1068: The dependency service or group failed ot start.

Any steps am I missing?

1 - Double-check the MD5 checksum of the downloaded installation file.

2 - Don't have a long %TEMP% path, or one with unusual characters in it.

3 - Run the installer "As Admin"

I just check and verify again. This is the info. Can't see any issue/disrespency of md5 of the installer here.

And yes, i did mention i run the installer with admin rights (right click -> run as administrator)

What do you mean by long %TEMP% path?

EXE download origin: https://www.vmware.com/go/getworkstation-win

EXE local path: C:\Users\david\Downloads

EXE name: VMware-workstation-full-15.5.1-15018445.exe

EXE MD5 hash: bb10f40a4dbfb55e89bd0cd9aa693306

Just to be clear I did not have any additional antivirus install in both laptop.

Unless it is pre-installed window defender/window firewall blocking.

Or possibility it does not work with Windows certain windows update?

Both of my laptop are always updated to latest windows 10 patches every week or two.
