Standard Email Notification Plugin – Sender Email Address TLD length bug

Just an FYI looks like a new bug with the Standard Email Notification Plugin (tested 6.6.1.6163035)

With the arrival of new longer top level domains it appears a customer of someone I know ran into a bug with the Sender Email Address in the Standard Email Notification Plugin reporting as invalid and wouldn't let him create the Outbound Plugin because of the length!!

This fails because services is longer than 6 chars!!

this works because servic is only 6 chars!!

I did a little write up on how to work around this and blogged about it here: vRops – Standard Email Notification Plugin – Sender Email Address TLD length bug | vMan

I also raised this as a bug with VMware and complained about once again a mistake in the suite-api documentation!

Cheers

This bug still exist in 8.x

vRops does not apply to some new gTLD. It has been more than five years since the new gTLD was launched.
