Hello comunity,

I am trying to use multiple Monitors on my guest Systems but, in Workstation Pro 15, this function refuses to work.

I alsways get this error messeage:

But, no matter what I do, stretch seems to be enabled in the drop down menu - also look at the last Icon on top and on the menu - Icon chnges menu Settings stays...

I assume you have VMware Tools installed on the guest?

You may have already seen it, but if not, check out this KB Configure Display Settings for a Virtual Machine

Of course I have. Latest VMware Tools installed in my Win7 and WinXP guests.

Workstation Pro 15.5.1 installed on my Win10 host.

Repair Installation of Workstation pro and reinstallation of VMware Tools already done, without success...

These are the curent settings, but I also tried specifying my own monitor Settings with the same issue.

Fun fact: we are running copies of this virtual machine on several Laptops in our Company.

The ones with VM 15.5.0 and 14.x.x installations do not have this issue. At least two hosts running 15.5.1 are not Abel to switch multiple Monitors...

Does your working host setting for "Automatically adjust user interface size in the virtual machine" match the new hosts? I believe you need to enable that setting

The working hosts have the same settings. The "Automatically adjust user interface sije in the virtual machine" function makes DPI changes for Icons and Fonts in the guest System - not working well with a Win7 guest...

I downgraded Workstation Pro 15.5.1 now to 15.5.0 and it is now working again!!!

That's a V15.5.1 BUG!

Is there a way to contact VMware directly to report this bug??

I'm trying to reproduce the issue with workstation 15.5.1 and win7SP1 VM, however it failed to reproduce.

From your description, seemingly like vmtools is working incorrectly when issue occurs.

If possible, could u reinstall the vmtools on workstation 15.5.1 and see if it works? If still failed, will you please attach the vmware.log for further analysis? Thanks
