Thunderbolt 3 Direct Connection

Hi, Ive been researching the idea of using a couple of Intel Skull Canyon NUCs as a two node vSAN - purely for Home Lab setup. There are a few options to use the Thunderbolt 3 ports to 10GB SFP+ or Copper. Now, im wondering if there is any way to just forget about converting TB3 to Fibre/Copper, and simply linking the two nodes via a single TB3 cable? This would improve the Bandwidth too, as it doesnt have to drop the TB3 speeds down to 10GB speeds. If there was an Esxi drivers for this (at this point Im not worried about HCL)? I was wondering if any of you have come across this option?

Thanks for any help.

Phil

Pretty sure there are no drivers in ESXi for this connection.
