Player 15 VMguest LenovoB50 keyboard not working at login screen

Hello Everyone,

I’ve converted a LenovoB50 laptop to a virtual machine using the Stand-alone Convertor. The VM boots up to the login screen with only the mouse working, keyboard failed.

Have gone through Host Registry menu, [ click Hkey_Local_Machine on Remote_Computer_Name on the Window menu, and then navigate to the following key: SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E96B-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} Double-click the UpperFilters:REG_MULTI_SZ: Lkbdflt2 kbdclass value, and then remove only the Lkbdflt2 entry].

Without success.

The virtual keyboard app in bottom left hand corner also failed.

Can someone please assist?

Howdy Everyone,

Solved the issue of "keyboard not working at login screen".

In the LenovoB50 laptop, deleted the extra keyboard value in regedt->UpperFilters:REG_MULTI_SZ: Lkbdflt2 kbdclass file.

Used the VMware Converter Standalone tool to create new vmdx file.

Created new machine in Workstation Player and login without any issues.

Cheers
