After receiving another Windows update (see above), my VMWare WorkStation cannot run any virtual machines anymore. I've already spent hours with this issue, was able to fix it after my computer did not boot at all anymore at some point using the step-by-step instructions given. Is this something I need to do after every Windows update now?! This is really tedious. Is there a way to get rid of this problem by not using HyperV/Linux sub-system?
I am running VMware 15.x on a Windows 10 Home 64-bit operating system. This was the solution for my issue (VMware showed the exact error message you showed during the initial startup of my VM before I installed the OS).
I just ran powershell as admin and copy pasted the command, restarted my host and now I'm running VM with no issues. Hope this helps. I know it says it's in response to a different issue, however this fix also corrected the issue with Device Guard.
