vCenter Upgrade to 6.7U3a Failed to extract requested data

Hi,

we upgraded our vCenter from 6.7U1 to 6.7u3a, now we get the following error when we open vSAN => Disk Management.

Failed to extract requested data. Check vSphere Client logs for details.

In a KB we saw, that U3A should fix this issue, but not in our installation.

Any idea?

repa82,

I would file an SR on this topic. Did you check for related error messages in the vsphere_client_virgo.log? The vSAN support team have scripts so resolve such issues so I would definately get them in the loop to get this issue fixed.

I found the following in the vsphere_client_virgo.log:

[2019-12-03T08:59:20.936Z] [ERROR] data-service-pool-773        70002319 100213 200014 c.v.v.c.vsan.dataprovider.VsanClusterPropertyProviderAdapter      Cannot retrieve vSAN configuration for cluster: ManagedObjectReference: type = ClusterComputeResource, value = domain-c9164, serverGuid = 9abe0258-8263-457f-af4a-f0f1d287c08b com.vmware.vsphere.client.vsandp.core.sessionmanager.common.NotAccessibleException: Cannot connect to the specified site. The site might not be available on the network, or a network configuration problem might exist. Check your connection details and try again.

Caused by: com.vmware.vim.vmomi.client.exception.SslException: com.vmware.vim.vmomi.core.exception.CertificateValidationException: Server certificate chain is not trusted and thumbprint doesn't match

Was there changes to SSL between U1 and U3?

repa82,

I think that certificate issue has been discussed before on this board. For fixing that certificate issue I think your quickest fix will be to contact VMware support as they already have some (internal) scripts available to fix such issues.
