It was always possible to ssh or ping guest vms from the host (MacOS X for me) at least till last year since then i haven't used Fusion.. But after upgrading to Catalina and Fusion 11.5.1 nothing works (also the menu entry connect to ssh doesn't work). Regardless what network i use (share with my mac, custom whatever) no chance!
