Format a drive results in KMODE EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED - what failed: usbuhci.sys

Workstation Pro v15.5.1

Windows 10 x64 1909 (18363.476)

Trying to format a USB thumbdrive - from within VM. This resulted in a BSOD with above stop code.

Does anyone here has a solution?

The workaround is to connect the thumbdrive to the host and do the format there. No problem there.

So I guess it is VMware related ?

Thanks.

Matter solved.

In VM settings: change USB Controller compatibility mode from 1.1 to 3.0
