Using Fusion 11.5 and Catalina 10.15.1 has disabled the Apple mouse from working

I had to upgrade to Fusion 11.5 to get my VM screen to no longer show as a black screen, but now the bluetooth mouse does not register to allow me to click to get the applications to work. Any help available?

Hi Kdhanson,

Does the bluetooth mouse work good when Fusion is not open?

Also, please check 'System Preferences==>Security & Privacy==>Privacy==>Accessibility', make sure VMware Fusion is in the list.

Regards,

The mouse works fine when fusion regardless of when fusion is open or not, but within the VM ware desktop it did not. I looked in System Preferences==>Security & Privacy==>Privacy==>Accessibility and fusion was there and was checked. I deselected the fusion box and now the mouse works. Seems odd that it would default to being selected and that not work, and have to deselect to make it work.  Now I am good to go!

Hi,

Another option for a bluetooth mouse is to NOT pass it on to the guest. (Under the USB options in settings you can untick an option to pass bluetooth to the guest)

What you are seeing here is the guest interfering by trying to grab the mouse.

Of course then you suddenly _do_ need to have the security checkbox ticked, but in that case it will work for any mouse and touchpad.
