vmware converter hung at 98% converting rh7.6 no real work around

Dear VMWARE

this is so frustrating that I would like to yell on this mess. I know you are aware of

VMware Knowledge Base  work around is useless as you can see:

Hello,

You should be aware that CentOS 7.6 is not supported by Converter (see VMware vCenter Converter Standalone 6.2.0.1 Release Notes ).

As a possible workaround, you might try upgrading the source to 7.7 before converting.

The reason that the workaround described doesn't work looks like is due to Red Hat dropping these packages from their repository.
