Outlook 2016 on Win7 to Outlook 2019 on Win10 broke notifications?

Win10 1803

Horizon 7.9

UEM 9.7

We migrated from an old Horizon 6 environment with a win7 image and persona to a new horizon 7.9 and win10 with UEM a few weeks back after a lot of testing. Almost everything went perfectly with migrating the users except a few users Outlook notifications. I'm using the built in Microsoft Office template, but at some point someone expanded it so I'm not sure if it's current (is there somewhere to download a new version?):

Some users are experiencing issues where the win10 notification of a new email does not display. I'm also capturing the overall win10 notification settings here:

[IncludeRegistryTrees]

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\PushNotifications

The work around is to have the user log out, delete their outlook.zip from their profile and have them log back in, create a new outlook profile then notifications work. I'm trying to see if there is a better way.

Thanks!

Hi,

we had a similar Problem with Toast Notifications from Outlook on Windows 10 (in our case W10 1709 with Outlook 2016).

The Problem is, if you use UEM Created Shortcuts in the Startmenu, the Toast Notifications would not work unless you place the default Outlook Shortcut (Created from the Office Setup) somewhere in "%PROGRAMDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs".

It does not really matter where exactly the Shortcut is located in the Programs folder, but the Name of the Shortcut will also be found at the Windows Settings for Toast notifications.

At least that was the fix for us and there is a a Microsoft article for it which will give a hint in the "Cause" Section.

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/3014833/no-desktop-alerts-toast-notifications-if-outlook-sh...

Maybe that will help you as well.

Thanks but this isn't the case for us. I think we've made it through all the users that were having the issue by recreating their UEM DEM data for outlook. Still never figured it out, but we haven't gotten any calls about it. It was random on only affected around 5% of users.
