asajm Sep 10, 2019 3:08 PM (in response to andvm)Hi @andvm
VMware Certification Tracks
You must get the latest version from newer version of VCP-DCV
VMware Certified Professional - Data Center Virtualization 2019 (VCP-DCV 2019)

2. Re: 6.5 training, exam and resources
scott28tt Sep 11, 2019 12:57 AM (in response to andvm)The exams for VCP6.5-DCV were retired at the end of August.
The active/current VCP-DCV is based on vSphere 6.7: VMware Certified Professional - Data Center Virtualization 2019 (VCP-DCV 2019)

3. Re: 6.5 training, exam and resources
andvm Nov 10, 2019 9:18 PM (in response to scott28tt)Thats very bad news, I cannot understand why I cannot sit for a 6.5 Exam considering it is probably still one of the mostly used version to-date. (At least there should be the option to choose between 6.5 and 6.7)
This means that if I still want to keep specialising on VMware I will need to take another training class even though 6.5 is still very relevant.
Thanks

4. Re: 6.5 training, exam and resources
asajm Nov 11, 2019 12:01 AM (in response to andvm)Hi andvm
You can pass the 6.5 Foundations exam then take and pass the vSphere 6.7 exam and earn the VCP-DCV 2019 certification.
It’s January…time for the new 2019 VCP certifications! - VMware Education Services

scott28tt Nov 11, 2019 2:25 AM (in response to asajm)The only available vSphere Foundations exam is on 6.7, the 6.5 exams were all retired at the end of August. (screenshot taken from VCP-DCV 2019 page)

6. Re: 6.5 training, exam and resources
scott28tt Nov 11, 2019 2:29 AM (in response to andvm)Until the end of August, VMware still offered the 6.0 and 6.5 exams.
The retirement of those exams was announced in April.

7. Re: 6.5 training, exam and resources
andvm Nov 11, 2019 10:02 PM (in response to scott28tt)Missed announcements as was busy with other projects.
Basically the 6.5 course I took is already outdated and not recognised for any exam path!....this is what I do not agree with, 6.5 is still very relevant and in my opinion it could be at least be accepted criteria for the VCP-DCV 2019
Thanks

8. Re: 6.5 training, exam and resources
scott28tt Nov 11, 2019 11:59 PM (in response to andvm)6.5 was GA towards the end of 2016, and 6.7 in early 2018 - it makes sense to me that someone getting their VCP in late-2019 wouldn‘t be able to do that with 6.5 exams.

9. Re: 6.5 training, exam and resources
andvm Nov 12, 2019 6:00 AM (in response to scott28tt)To me it does not make sense to render a 6.5 course unusable in terms of certs as it is still very much in use.
Anyways just my opinion at this point
