1. Re: How to monitor the VMs using vROPS
sk591 Nov 7, 2019 10:33 PM (in response to sandeepbc)You can configure metrics for VMs to monitor and forecast usage. Please refer: Virtual Machine Metrics
In case you are looking for application level monitoring you can refer: Application Monitoring

sandeepbc Nov 7, 2019 10:44 PM (in response to sk591)Once the VMs are auto-discovered after adding the VCenters into VROPS.
Then, what are the polices we need to deploy to start collecting data and metrics for all the VMs in the environment ?
I'm not looking for application monitoring. I'm just looking to monitor the VMs through out-of-box without installing agents.

sxnxr Nov 8, 2019 2:15 AM (in response to sandeepbc)When you add a vcenter to vrops it will auto collect metrics based on the default policy. I would recommend creating a new policy for your company and making it default. You can make sub policies off that if you want to not collect certain metrics or disable/enable different alerts.
You would apply the different policies to different sets of objects using custom groups
