Upgrade standalone ESXi host from 5.5 to 6.5

Pls advise, I have 2 separate standalone ESXi hosts that are currently running ESXi 5.5. These are IBM HS22 and IBM HS23 physical blade servers. They are not clustered, just standalone individual ESXi hosts. I'm about upgrade the ESXi hosts directly to ESXi 6.5, by choosing the "(x) Upgrade ESXi, preserve VMFS datastore" option. I just need to confirm if i will be able to powerup my VMs, after the upgrade is done, with no issues whatsoever? whether the VMs will be able to run or will be compatible to the newer upgraded ESXi hypervisor version? Thanks

regards,

Two factors to consider here:

1) Hardware version of the VMs. Kindly refer: Virtual Machine Compatibility

2) Guest OS compatibility: https://www.vmware.com/resources/compatibility/pdf/VMware_GOS_Compatibility_Guide.pdf

Please check the H/W compatibility. It seems HS22 does not supported by ESXi 6.5
