Can’t connect to ESXi server from Fusion 11.5

I cannot connect to the ESXi server from within Fusion 11.5. I  can connect via ssh no problem  but when I put the server IP, username, and password into the “connect to server” fields in Fusion, I instantly get a “connection timed out” pop up.

Is there something I need to enable in ESXi or is there something else  I’m missing?

sorry if this is a noob question. I’m learning lots but this one has me stumped as I looked for hours.

I  guess I  should specificy that  the  ESXi server is  on the same network as the Fusion  host. as  such there  shouldn’t be  any firewall issues

Can you check do you have access to the ESXi host on ports: 443 & 902 from your mac client?!

You can simply try telnet to the ESXi on these ports ...
