Invalid Configuration for device '0'

Hi all

Trying to upload a VM to ESXi 6.0 using VMware vCenter Converter Standalone version 6.2.0 but the task will not start giving the message "Invalid configuration for device '0'."

I don't know what this pertains to.  The source VM came from Workstation 15 and I thought it may have to do with compatibility level.  I tried changing the source VM level to 12 and to 11 but the same message appear.  Anyone know what the solution might be?

Thanks

Try to remove from Workstation's VM any devices like floppy, serial port, parallel port, etc.

For ESX VM you need memory, cpus, video, disk controller, hard disk and network adapter.

Thanks for the reply.  I thought similarly and it was the first thing I did.  Right now it has memory, processors, hard disk, network and display.  Compatibility level was 15 and I also tried 12 and 11.  Still not able to upload.

I had the same error, when trying to upload from workstation 15 to esx 6.5.

Initially I have removed audio, printer, cdrom - no change.

Only after changing the network card from bridged to NAT the error went away.

Not sure if this will help anyone, but i had the same issue and what i did to resolve this was untick the box to connect the vm nic when powered on. As soon as i did that the upload from vmware workstation worked.
