RVTools not working with VCSA 6.5 (TLS 1.0 is disabed)

Hi Guys,

Has anyone been able to get RVTools working on VCSA 6.5?  For me it's not working since vCenter 6.x.

I urgently need to generate a report from it for Orphaned VMDK's across 30 vCenter. Can anyone please help me getting RVTools working?

Thanks

Sunny

I'd suggest that you contact the author at http://www.robware.net/rvtools/contact/

He' always interested in feedback, and I'm sure he'll be able to help.

Hi,

I've found a solution / workaround as well.

Just use provide your credentials directly via "-u <username> -p <encrypted_password>" instead of "-passthroughAuth".

Encrypt your password with "C:\Program Files (x86)\RobWare\RVTools 3.9.5\RVToolsPasswordEncryption.exe" at first and hand over it to rvtools via "-u <username> -p <your_encrypted_password>".

That's all and it works very well as scheduled tasks. 😉

Best regards Mathias

Hi Randhir,

related to release notes, it should be fixed in latest version 9.3.5. I've tested it also with this version, but it won't work with "-passthroughAuth". 😉

it works only with credentials via "-p -u " option.

Best Regards Mathias

if you are using a password with $ or any others special caracteres you should protect this caracters with `. or use a simple password for test.

ex: -u "user" -p "Password$123" ---- > -u "user" -p "Password`$123"
