Hi!
I'm about to install VMWare 6.7 on dual processor Dell R440 server, and I would like to know which has best hardware supporte: Dell Custom ESXi 6.7U2 or VMWare ESXi 6.7U3?
I already have a VMWare subscription to install for dual processor, but I would like to have little to none drivers install/maintenance effort.
Thanks for your help!
Edson
Hi,
The version customized by the hardware supplier, have corrections mainly on drivers.
VMware vSphere ESXi 6.7.x on Dell EMC PowerEdge Systems Image Customization Information https://www.dell.com/support/manuals/it/it/itbsdt1/vmware-esxi-6.7.x/esxi_6.7_image_custom_pub/dell-...

If a vendor provides a customized ESXi image, you should always prefer this one, as it contains additional/required hardware specific drivers, and tools.

As a note. The Dell custom ISO images are now listet/linked from the VMware Download page like all the others(HPE, Lenowo...) as well.
Otherwise its available without anykind of registration from dell.com

We use the DELL image with Dell servers but you must be prepared for loads of hidden issues.
Such as??
Where is the download? Can't find it anywhere. Looking for 6.7 U3 A02.
Hi,
you should download this version because with Dell 6.7 u3 A02 there are many people who complain about poor performance networks.

Log spam, driver issues such as not being VMware compatible, then you have PSOD. On a plus side at least they do not include OME and ISM with the image which has a load of issues also. You need to check the dell issues log with the image and the dell forums. Every time we update the image and deploy we have to check and test everything.
