Does vSAN have product specifications similar to those listed below?
I need to compare with Huawei Fusioncube products
Hello,
Yes VSAN have similar specifications but sometimes better and sometimes not.
For exemple with vSAN you have:
- encryption
- deduplication when full flash only
- 64 nodes maximum but if you want you can add another cluster
- ressource pool ok
- iscsi access ok
- snapshots yes better version than vsphere snapshots
- active active yes with streched cluster
- synchronous replication by default with ftt=1 up to 3
- thin provisionning by default but you can thick as you want 25% up to 100%
- you can manage your VM storage vm by vm with SPBM directly on vcenter it's better than by lun.
Etc.
You can see all of functionnalities on VMware storagehub
Thank you for reply
There is also part, Can you give us a reference?
For QoS you can find QoS limit on storage policy and you manage your policy by vm, by vdisk or for a vm group.
You have too, checksum functionality on vsan for data
About network you can use 1g or 10g or more it's the same from vsphere
Compatible platform for vsan = all x86 platform but use "vsan HCL" to verify storage controler compatibility and the same for disk
Hi Rymana,
With some searching you may have found the vSAN feature overview on the storagehub . To be exactly here. In the technical overview section every feature is further described.
Cormac's list on his blog is also a good read.
