Change External Network IP Pool

Hi, is there any chance to expand the subnet mask of an External Network IP Pool from /25 to /24 or something like that?

If not, how would you expand the available pool without reconfigure all VMs??

Thanks in advance!

Pablo.-

Does this not work as you would expect? :

From pg. 49 in https://www.vmware.com/pdf/vcd_15_admin_guide.pdf

Add IP Addresses to an External Network IP Pool

If an external network is running out of IP addresses, you can add more addresses to its IP Pool.

Procedure

1. Click the Manage & Monitor tab and click External Networks in the left pane.

2. Right-click the external network name and select Properties.

3. On the Network Specification tab, type an IP address or a range of IP addresses in the text box and click Add.

4. Click OK.

Hi Mikero, and thanks for the responce.

This is not what I am trying to do. The issue is as follows.

I have the pool configured as:

netmask: 255.255.255.128

Default Gateway: 192.168.0.1

IP Pool: 192.168.0.2 - 192.168.0.126

What I am trying to do is expand the netmask to 255.255.255.0 to be able to add the pool 192.168.0.127 - 192.168.0.254 with the same DG and for the new VMs to be able to comunicate with the old ones.

I dont care to have to change the Netmask manually all over the VMs.

Sorry for my poor english.

Thanks!

Pablo.-

Did you ever get an answer for this?  Seems like a fairly common situation that someone could be in.  If you just add another block of addresses, you have to go back and forth enabling and disabling them to hand them out.

Is it possible to expand an existing External Network range?
