After upgrade to ESXi 6.5 U3 LSI SMI-S CIM Provider (LSIprovider) don't work

Hello.

I have upgraded my ESXi 6.5 U2 to U3 and got troubles. No more monitoring for LSI Magaraid SAS 9260-4i.

And I see in Event this warning "An application (/bin/sfcbd) running on ESXi host has crashed (1417 time(s) so far). A core file might have been created at /var/core/sfcb-LSIESG_SMI-zdump.000"

I don't know how solve this issue.

Hi,

Which driver are you using?

For ESXi 6.5 U3 and the LSI 9260-4i, you should use megaraid_sas version 6.603.55.00-2vmw.

esxcfg-scsidevs -a

vmkload_mod -s mptspi |grep Version

I use megaraid_sas

[root@static:~] esxcfg-scsidevs -a

vmhba0  vmw_ahci          link-n/a  sata.vmhba0                             (0000:00:1f.2) Intel Corporation Wellsburg AHCI Controller

vmhba1  megaraid_sas      link-n/a  unknown.vmhba1                          (0000:02:00.0) LSI / Symbios Logic MegaRAID SAS GEN2 Controller

[root@static:~] vmkload_mod -s megaraid_sas |grep Version

Version: Version 6.603.55.00.2vmw, Build: 4564106, Interface: 9.2 Built on: Oct 26 2016

I also have the same issue.

My card is LSI MR9261-8i.

Monitoring used to work before upgrading to ESXi 6.5 U3.

Now I see "No data available".

Remote "storcli" command works and I can read RAID info.

Has anybody managed to solve the issue?

Have you got this working?

What is the higher build that works for you?

There is a similar thread here:

The build when it was working was 8294253.

Actually I have another host where everything is fine.

The difference is that on the second host I installed Update 3 right after installation from ISO.

On the first one, where I have issues, I installed the Update 3 after VMs deployment and couple months of usage.

Looks like something wrong happens during update.

I'm using a new install from the ISO, but then I restore a backup (ConfigBundle).

Anyway, I just tried Build 8285314, it works.

Tried also:

- Build 8294253, it provides the info in the ESXi web console, however, when I try to connect with the MSM, the host is not detected ... so I'm going to downgrade to 8285314.
