vConverter does not accept a NAS as the Destination

Hello,

I am trying to do a P2V conversion of a Windows 7 system running vConverter version 6.2.

I would prefer to store the file created by vConverter on a NAS but it rejects it saying it cannot find the file - extension is .vmc.

However, other applications can write to the NAS.

The NAS is mounted to the Z: drive. The program did create a directory but stops there.

Any advice would be welcome.

Without logs it's hard to say what the problem is. Could you upload log bundle?

As a wild guess - the letter Z: is not visible to SYSTEM account used in Converter and/or to user used for conversion.

I no longer have the logs. I abandoned this idea and just used an external drive.

The PC which was connected to the NAS obviously could see it. And in the setup, no objection was raised.

But the tool failed as soon as it tried to access the network storage device.

The user account setting up the P2V conversion is in the admin group but had a different name.

Your reply mentioned the system account. Does vconverter use a different account than the login account to do the conversion?

If so, please tell if that account is administrator or something else. I will login with that account to see if the Z drive is visible and reply back.

It would be useful to know the cause.

Thank you!
