Hi All!
I have a problem with my virtual machines.
I use different windows 10 guest operating systems - for development purposes.
My "host" is my laptop - from which i power them on.
But during my commute to / from work - i close the lid in my computer
Microsoft Surface Book 2. I then goes to sleep
but when i wake it up again all my machines are crashed
If i manually pause my guests before - no problems.
But - can't they pause automatically when the host goes to sleep?
I use vmware workstation
Have a nice day
Please get the %SystemRoot%\memory.dmp file in guest after the BSOD, and also collect support data from Help > Support > Collect Support Data, and upload the zip file? Thanks a lot!
Hi Bonnie.
Thanks for getting back to me.
i have attached the supportinformation, but the memorydump is approx 900mb.

Can you please compress the dmp file and attach it? If not, please upload it to our ftp site:
VMware ftp site:
FTP Server: ftpsite.vmware.com
User: inbound
Pwd: inbound
Port: 21
Thanks a lot!
Hi again.

Goodmorning.
Did you get my Memory file?
br.
Yes, we are still analyzing it. Thanks for your patience!
i have the same problem with linux mint 19.1 xfce host and win 10 virtual machines.. when i was on arch linux host there was no such problem of crashing when i logout, but now, alas, it exist, and it wasn't solved with upgrading to 15.5
Hi!
Did you have the time to look at my issue?
The issue is stil present.
the problem remains in 15.5.1
I am seeing the same problem on my Surface Book 2 host system, running Windows 10 Pro. I have seen this for quite some time now, and haven't found a fix yet. Was there something found from the memory.dmp file that was uploaded? Something that you could share with us? I just had another BSOD and am very much concerned to find an answer to this issue.
My story is the same as VirtualDevOp10. If I walk away from my laptop when it's not on the power supply (of course, not a good idea for the battery to leave it on the power supply all the time) and I don't come back pretty quickly, I will more than likely have a blue screen for the Windows 10 guest (also Windows 10 Pro). I have gotten into the habit of keeping my laptop on the power supply when I have VMWare running a guest O/S, but I am not happy about having to do that.
In case you need another example of the memory.dmp file, I have zipped mine up (just restarted after a BSOD I just got) and have uploaded it here as memory.zip.
Thank you for any help you can give to me for this problem.
