How to protect virtual machines in workstation and Esxi VPN software no hardware it's possible?

I created 3 virtual machines in Esxi one is my own and 2 others are for remote users who connect to my server.

my question is is there any software to protect these three virtual machines in Esxi and also in workstations if it is possible ?.

What are the best vmware protection software for virtual machines?

or do the best VPN software without hardware work or need to have the hardware ?.

"Protection" from what? This is an extremely broad term.

Do you need VPN hardware or do I just need to install anti-virus software?

It depends on what kind of protection you are looking for. I'm assuming you don't want your VM to have access to the remote users VMs and vice versa, it's not the VMware product that is going to help you there.

You can use a different Portgroup in a different VLAN, that will segment your traffic by VLAN, however the configuration has to be done in your physical network layer as well.
