Migrate VMs from vSphere Hypervisor 6.5 to vCenter Server 6.0 (vSphere 6 Enterprise)

Hi

We need to migrate some On-Prem VMs currently running on VMware ESXi 6.5 U3 (and a few on HyperV08R2) to vCenter Server 6.0 (vSphere 6 Enterprise) and would like some advice on best practice methods with minimal downtime?

*These two VMware environments are situated in different geo locations.

Much appreciatedSmiley Happy

Because you said they are in different GEO location use Replication solution is the best method

Use vSphere Replication (VR) or Site Recovery Manager (SRM) as the VMware solutions.

And also you can use VEEAM Backup & Replication or Zerto Replication as the 3rd-party solutions

Hi,

If you intend to migrate VMs to a vCenter that has Esxi 6.5 or higher hosts it is possible. I've done it many times with Veeam backup & replication (Free).

If instead you want to move hosts 6.0 to VCSA 6.5 ... it is not manageable:
