VCSA 6.7 ha CPU Stuck

Hi,

I've a Vmware Infrustrure configured with ...

3 host Dell PowerEdge R630

32 CPUs x Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2683 v4 @ 2.10GHz (x host)

Memory 511.91 GB (x host)

Vmware Enterprise Plus v6.7.0 (Build 8169922)

I've installed on one host VCSA v6.7 configured whit small profile "4 CPU - 16GB".

I try to configure HA for VCSA, but a deploy stop with error "NMI watchdog BUG soft lockup - CPU Stuck" (see image).

I also try to setup different host and storage for primary peer and witness VCSA, but same error.

NOTE: All 3 host and VCSA are regular licence.

How can I fix it?

Thanks

Hi,

I just upgraded our 6 host cluster from 6.5U2 to 6.7U3 last week and wanted to configure vCenter HA yesterday. I ran into the exact same problem. At some point during configuration the vCenter goes unavailable (session gone; ping does not reply) and after a few minutes comes back and shows CPU stuck messages. After a while the HA configuration says it has failed and I have to reset it. I tried it twice because the first time I thought that backup intervened and was responsible but that did not hold true. I also found a KB article from VMware that says more or less you can ignore those CPU stuck messages when they occur during vCenter HA setup (VMware Knowledge Base) but ignoring means to me that I do not have a vCenter HA. Bump.

At the first attempt it created the snapshot of the VCSA to create the passive node which even came online and I could ping the vCenter HA network IP but stuck shortly before the witness was completely online. At the second try it already failed when creating the passive node.

Anyone has any idea how to solve this?

Thanks

Daniel
