Tried this :

Manage Windows Defender Credential Guard (Windows 10) | Microsoft Docs

-Disabled Credential Guard using gpedit.msc

- Removed all remaining registry keys manually with regedit.

- Made sure no Hyper - V component are activated.

- Applied this in an elevated command prompts :

mountvol X: /s

copy %WINDIR%\System32\SecConfig.efi X:\EFI\Microsoft\Boot\SecConfig.efi /Y

bcdedit /create {0cb3b571-2f2e-4343-a879-d86a476d7215} /d "DebugTool" /application osloader

bcdedit /set {0cb3b571-2f2e-4343-a879-d86a476d7215} path "\EFI\Microsoft\Boot\SecConfig.efi"

bcdedit /set {bootmgr} bootsequence {0cb3b571-2f2e-4343-a879-d86a476d7215}

bcdedit /set {0cb3b571-2f2e-4343-a879-d86a476d7215} loadoptions DISABLE-LSA-ISO

bcdedit /set {0cb3b571-2f2e-4343-a879-d86a476d7215} device partition=X:

mountvol X: /d

and

bcdedit /set {0cb3b571-2f2e-4343-a879-d86a476d7215} loadoptions DISABLE-LSA-ISO,DISABLE-VBS

bcdedit /set vsmlaunchtype off

Stil does'nt work !

Worst : after applying the bcd operations in the elevated cmd prompt made the computer stopping booting at alll saying there was a .efi file missing .. Smiley Sad

PLEASE VMWARE, WORKS WITH MICROSOFT TO FIND A SUITABLE SOLUTION ONCE AND FOR ALL. !

I am not sure what happened, but this issue seems to have re-surfaced.
But the previous solutions don't seem to solve the issue.

My corporate VMware Workstation 15 Pro get the same error since last week.

It might be the latest Windows Updates, except I would have thought there would be more people screaming on this Forum.

Windows10x64 - VMware Workstation

---------------------------

VMware Workstation and Device/Credential Guard are not compatible. VMware Workstation can be run after disabling Device/Credential Guard. Please visit http://www.vmware.com/go/turnoff_CG_DG for more details.

OK

---------------------------

I have (temporarily) switched to another desktop virtualization product, so I can keep working.

Does anyone have any information about a possible solution?
Things I tried with no success:
- Hyper-V windows feature has never been enabled
- disable the policy: Turn on Virtualization Based Security (was set to not configured before) -  Reboot
- bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype off    -  Reboot

Greetings,

FR

Multiple Hypervisors or virtualization technologies from different vendor are not compatible within a single system.

You must remove Hyper-V functionality service from your system or disable device guard and credential guard if you want to start virtual machines of VMware Workstation. They are NOT compatible.
