Operating systems that support hot plug/add

Hey guys,  I have a doubt, what vm os's are supported for hot add of CPU and memory  I know win 2008 64 bit is and rhel5 is but anything other than that?  Please advice  Thanks Rj

Linux (but the x64) can handle.

It depends by some kernel features, so it can work on most distributions.

Please go through this link http://www.vmware.com/resources/compatibility/search.php?deviceCategory=software.

Search for specific version of ESX  and get the list of all GOS that are supportted.Click on the GOS and read "Virtual Hardware" section.This section will tell you if the GOS you selected supports Hot plug/add.
