Mojave 10.14.6 and Fusion 11 when MacBook awakes from sleep, Fusion is unresponsive

I posted this in the apple forums:

"The latest Mojave update has caused a problem with running VMs using VMWare Fusion 11.1.1. Prior to the update I could close my 2017 15" MacBookPro lid and when I resumed, any running VMs came back with no problem. After this last update, if I have a running VM when I close the lid and it goes into sleep when I open it back up, VMWare Fusion stops responding. I get the spinning rainbow wheel forever across any VMWare Fusion windows, and it won't let me do anything. I have to Force Quit it every time. If I remember to suspend/pause my running VMs, this issue does not happen."

And of course, the immediate finger pointing started with this reply:

"You may have to contact VMWare support or check their forums. They may need a new update to address the issue."

So, here I am. Any help is appreciated.  Let me know what info I can provide to help this issue.

Thanks!

Could you try it with the newest version Fusion 11.5? Does it still happen?

Just upgraded.  So far so good.  I will report back if it starts doing it again.  Thank you.
