6.7 U3 VMotion CPU compatibility

I have two HPE Gen9 servers

DL360 Gen 9 with Intel Xeon E5-2600-v3 Series

DL380 Gen9 with Intel Xeon E5-2600-v4 Series

According to the compatibility guide: VMware Compatibility Guide - cpu

the V4 CPU is showing it supports the Haswell Generation, but the V3 Haswell doesn't show it supports the Broadwell Generation?

Can someone clarify if VMotion will work across these two CPU series? Thanks

Welcome to the Community,

That's expected. In order to be able to live migrate (vMotion/DRS), you may set the EVC mode on the Cluster to the lowest common processor type, which in your case is Haswell.
