ESXI 6.5U2 - Windows 10 only boots the first time

Hi all,

I have a Windows 10 virtual machine under ESXi 6.5U2 that works fine when booted for the first time. But once i turn it off, it doesn't boot into desktop anymore unless i reboot the host. Apparently, it doesn't matter if it's the first VM to be turned on (if i turn on a FreeNAS VM first, the W10 behaviour is the same, it turns on the first time, but then refuses to boot into desktop until the host is rebooted).

When i try to boot W10 for the 2nd time, i don't get any error messages, The "Recent tasks" tab on the host shows "Power On VM" as "Completed succesfully", but after a few seconds it turns off and does not go into W10 desktop.

Can anybody please help? Thanks in advance!

What may contain useful hints in this case, is the vmware.log file that's located in the VM's folder.

Thanks for the reply. Here is the last log (picked it from the VM's "Monitor" tab, i'm guessing this is the one; if it's not, where can i find the right one?), i hope it sheds some light into the issue:

Moderator note: moved pasted log into an attachment.

As a quick test, please change the VM's CPU settings from 8 vCPUs to e.g. 2 vCPUs to see whether this makes a difference.

Thanks again, André. I changed the number of vCPUs from 8 to 2 (in 1 socket, in both configurations), but still not booting to desktop. I attach (thanks to the moderator for the other one!) the log file for reference.
