usb flash disk cannot connect to my vm and show Cannot connect path:0/1/11' to this virtual machine.

Hi

My server is HP DL580 G10 and using vcenter  6.7.0.40000  Build number 14367737 and

VMware ESXi 6.7.0 build-14320388

VMware ESXi 6.7.0 Update 3

now i have added a flash disk to one of esxi host but after add Host USB Device and select that flash disk, then click ok but show follow error

  • Reconfigure virtual machine
  • Targetvm1
  • StatusCannot connect 'path:0/1/11' to this virtual machine. The device was not found.

even i have shutdown the vm and repeat above steps it accepted but after power.on the vm in edit setting cannot see that flash disk

what is the problem ?

Hi baber

You can check if you have the following line in your VMX file

usb.generic.allowCCID = "TRUE"

I don't have this line in .vmx file

Does this line generate after add usb device or ... ?

I added that line and reload vmx file then power.on and add usb device but show same error and did not work.

I had to say this flash disk is not such as storage this is a tool or a key for run a specific application on my environment

while I had add a flash disk that as a storage disk vm detect it and work excellent but could not detect this kind of flash disk
