Retrieve information from "Request a Catalog Item" workflow

Hi,

I'm using vRO 7.5 and creating a workflow that leverages the built in existing workflow "Request a Catalog Item".

The catalog item I have is one that provisions a machine.

I'd like the vRO workflow to be able to retrieve information like what VM was provisioned (i.e. name), and use that attribute to conduct more actions downstream in the workflow.

The only attribute I see from the "Request a Catalog Item", however, is the "request (Type:vCACCAFE:CatalogItemRequest)".

Is it possible to gain more information based on what was provisioned to be used in the workflow?

Yes, you can retrieve the CatalogResources from the request ID

Check here for a previous answer - Find a vRA catalog resource by its request Id.

Note that you need to be sure that the request has completed before the resource will be present in the catalog
