Workstation 15 Player - change network card on the fly?

Hello,

This might have been asked before, but I couldn't find the answer, so please bear with me.

Basically my work case requires me to keep switching between NAT and Vmnet0, in order to be able to achieve what I need (like switching between filtered/non filtered internet traffic). But I always have to shutdown the VM, change the network card type, then turn it back on, multiple times a day.

If I change the card type on the fly, the guest doesn't catch up accordingly, using Windows 10 host and Debian 9.5 guest. Restarting the network in guest with sudo /etc/init.d/networking restart doesn't seem to help either.

Am I missing something? Do I have to do something more to be able to switch between network modes on the fly, without closing/re-opening the VM? Or is it not possible at all with Player?

For certain technical reasons I am not able to use 2 cards (one with vmnet0 and one with NAT) at the same time, so this is not a solution for me.

Thank you,

Andrew.
