vSphere host (v5.5) thinks there's still an issue with the storage controller battery

Running an HP Gen8 server. The storage controller battery failed and was replaced to resolve the issue. The server indicates everything is healthy but the ESXi host is showing the controller battery status as "unknown" which is causing a critical alert. I've tried resetting the sensors multiple times. Anything else I can do to clear the status?

Hi,

Sometimes, the battery takes time to charge up and till then, you may see the status on ESXi as unknown. Can you check in iLO if the battery status is showing as charging or charged ? If its charged, you can try re-starting ESXi services. If this doesn't help, reboot ESXi, if possible.

Hope this helps.

I've tried resetting the sensors both from vCenter and from the host. Same issue. Always shows the battery status as unknown.

Have you tried rebooting the server, someone mentioned that earlier? outside of that you may want to contact hp since 5.5 is out of support, it may be something on hp even though there alarms are clear. ESXi just reads what the server provides, so if it won't clear on the esxi side with a reboot, its probably a bug somewhere.

That's my next step (to reboot again).
