Hi,

Thanks for your prompt response.

In this KB you sent is about 5.1 version, my VDP is 6.1 e doesn't have Status Tab.

But I checked on VDP Configure (https://vmvdp:8543/vdp-configure/) all services is running.

This is the scenario... 3, 4 days works fine, then show the error "VDP:001 The most recent checkpoint..."

Thank you.

Hi all,

I have the same issue with VPD 6.1.7 on VMware ESXi 6.5.0 and still searching for a solution.

Any results or further ideas here?

Thanks in advance.

Everyday we run a checkpoint operation to create a consistent system state in case of a rollback.

If your checkpointing fails for a day without a valid one for >24 hours, you receive this alert.

The reason why it fails for checkpointing can be different (a lot!)

You will need to SSH to VDP (As admin if root access is not enabled)

Then run

# cplist

If you do not see any valid checkpoint in the last 24 hours, run "# status.dpn" to see the cause of failure of checkpoint.

Then the err.log under /data01/cur/err.log should have the reason for failure when "grep" by the cp.2018xxxxx ID

Please, stop using VDP...

It was deprecated and you still continue to use it.

That error was quite common, as far as I know, so well usually you had to delete everything and re-ran all jobs.

I had the same error and I got it resolved performing tasks below:

  • Logon to your VC.
  • From Home Screen select "vSphere Data Protection 6.1"
  • Connect to your VDP client.
  • Select the Configuration Tab
  • Click the All Action icon (Settings icon)
  • Select "Run integrity Check"
  • Click Yes to perform the check when prompted.
  • Wait until the "integrity Check" Task has completed.
  • Refresh the vCenter Console and error disappears.
  • If the error still exist then reboot your VDP appliance.

PS: If you see the error message re-appears in couple of days time then it means your maintenance schedule has not been configured properly or it has not run for various reasons. You can manually modify the backup and maintenance schedule or run an on-demand maintenance from shell.

Hope that helps!

Thank you,
