Here's what i've done both from the web client and thick client
SSH is enabled. I can't uncheck it , recheck it, change it. I get an error saying "cannot change the host configuration"
Firewall is disabled - all ports are open
Tried to telnet to port 22 - says it's not open
Used Putty command , won't let me access it says "network error, connection refused"
I do know this is a new host then the other 3, and the cluster is in EVC mode. I might have to physically go to the box in the datacenter .
I even raised the MTU settings to 1600
Any suggestions would be great.
I found out that Cisco UCS Manager and the KMV portion was setup. I got on the ESXi console , went to troubleshooting, Enable ESXi Shell and SSH, restarted the management services.
Tried putty and it now works.

Firewall configurations are fine in the vcenter.
Please select the ESXi host which you want to enable the ssh service and start it.
select host -> configure -> services -> right hand pane -> ssh -> start
you might miss starting the service
go to ILO or cisco depends on your configuration start the ssh services still doesnt work restart the server.
after restart also the ssh not works then there is configuration issue with ssh in the esxi.
Did you try by root
connect direct by root and try restart service
No, it's not possible to reboot the host at this time. I"m trying to resolve an error that includes a boot LUN error. I have sucessfully cleared the error on the 3 hosts via SSH.
Firewall is disabled , all other hosts I am able SSH into via port 22.
