Keyboard issues in Windows guest on Linux host

In my installation i am running a windows 10 guest on the linux host. On the host i use both US and Hungarian keyboard and the same in the guest. Everything works fine if i select the US layout on the host, but when i select the Hungarian layout i have problems with logging on windows guest. If i logged on to the guest in any listbox, drop down list when i hoover with the mouse it automatically scrolls / selects to top most item. If i select the US layout, everything works just fine.

Did anybody faced the same issue and is there any solution (other then only using US keyboard layout)

Thanks

I have the same issue. If in the host I have a keyboard layout other than US (DE, IT, ..) then the mouse movement inside the guest triggers multiple "Key Up" (or "Key Down") events. It depends on the chosen Keyboard layout in the host. The guest becomes unusable. The only workaround as you suggested is to stick with an US Keyboard layout in the Host.

Try changing keyboard layout shortcut in Ubuntu or in Windows.

This seems to be tied not to the layout, but the orders of the layouts in the Gnome input list.

VMware is aware of the problem, and is working on a fix for a future version of the product.
