Wifi on my host interferes with the LAN connection on my VM

I seem to be having issues with the Wifi on my host PC interfering with the LAN communication on my VMWare. I am unable to communicate to any of my LAN devices using wire Ethernet on static IP addresses from my VM image. Magically everything work once I disable the Wifi on my host. This is repeatable. Does anyone why this is??

Hi,

In VMware Workstation menu, go to Edit -> Virtual Network Editor

Then on the line for Bridged networks there's an option for the Bridged settings, like this:

The default is automatic, change it to your LAN adapter.

Do the subnets happen to overlap?

Or - does your host stop using the wired connection itself when it is using the wireless one?

Wil

I don't see the LAN adapter option. Could it be called something else?

ahh Wil - I misunderstood your solution. You are right, after I changed it to MY LAN adapter the problem went away and it is now working perfectly.

Thanks for your help!
