login to webpage after update vCenter Server Appliance 6.7.0.31100 embedded build 13843380 not possible anymore

Hi all,

yesterday I updated my vCenter Appliance via the webinterface to (I guess) vCenter Server Appliance 6.7.0.31100 embedded build 13843380 (got this information out of snmp).

After the last update, I can't really detect which one it is, because I can't login anymore to the Webpage at https://IP_or_dns:5480 as user root with the correct Password.

The unfunny thing is, ssh connection to the IP_or_dns with the given Password works proper and I have Access (and I am root).

What to do, to solve this issue?

Is there anyone out, who can assist me or point me to the issue I haven't seen yet?

thanks

Gerold

sorry, If I bothered you, but I found the solution:

here is how I resolved the issue

  1. Login VCSA ssh console

  2. Check which service did not start

       # service-control --status

Found the most important one: applmgmt.service

   3. Manual start the services which are missing

     # service-control --start applmgmt.service

   4. Login VCSA Web console: successfully

It may be the issue referred in this article VMware Knowledge Base .

Once ssh to VCSA with root you can change the password with the command passwd.
