several stretched clusters -> several vSAN VLANs?

hello,

a small vSAN 6.7 u2 design question.

if you have several stretched clusters in your environment, do you consider have a dedicated VLAN for vSAN per cluster or using the same VLAN for every cluster is fine? especially when mcast is not used any more.

I'm very interested by your thoughts.

thanks.

I've seen customers doing both to be honest. The removal of multicast definite meant that customers are more and more looking to use a single VLAN. I don't have a preference really. There are benefits to both approaches, but none of the benefits are big enough to warrant the choice over the other.

Thank you Duncan for your reply. much appreciate.

I'm happy to see that there are no strong technical reason to avoid an approche rather than another.

I will quickly brainstorm this topic with my NetGuy to see what's fits best our organisation.

thank you again.

Eric
