VSAN HCL for NIC

There's a nice page that has HCL list for VSAN to cover controllers and drivers.  But where do I find the HCL for NICs?

I would like to know what is the firmware and driver combo to run VSAN 6.7 U2 for HPE Ethernet 10/25Gb 2-port 640FLR-SFP28 Adapter.

It would be nice if there was a category for NIC being support and speakers at VMWorld talk about NIC firmware and driver.

Thanks

There isn't one because we only test and certify components specific to vSANs storage capabilities (Controller,Cache and Capacity) - everything else (e.g. NICs, CPU, Server) is certified for whichever release of ESXi you are running

In this case likely this device (but do of course validate with IDs):

VMware Compatibility Guide - I/O Device Search

Note also that Firmware 'N/A' indicates that hardware vendor is the source of reference for what you should be running with which driver and release (and that these are minimum firmware versions if specified).

That being said, as Network becomes ever more important to functionality and performance of vSAN (like any HCI solution) as it scales there could be a NIC HCL in future but the potential downside of us testing and approving/rejecting X or Y NIC for A or B purpose would likely cause more issues than having a guided path would benefit from and of course probably less choice for what people can use.
