I have dowloaded and installed ESX(i). I have read that vmkfstools.exe can help me with several tasks, but where to find this tool ?

vmkfstools can be accessed via the (unsupported) Tech Support Mode.

Note that it doesn't have the .exe extension as it doesn't run on Windows.

You can also get this via the RCLI. That's available in a Windows / Linux install or Linux appliance. The command is also in the VIMA appliance. You can get these from - http://www.vmware.com/download/vi/drivers_tools.html.

It doesn't make the question less relevant. I hate it when people use acronyms because they think everyone knows them. I will point out, you too replied to a 10  year old post.

Because there is no more RCLI. Instead there is PowerCLI as well as vSphere CLI.

vSphere CLI is a perl based API which use perl on Windows or Linux.

vSphere PowerCLI are a (complete) set of Powershell modules.

The CLI is deprecated and for a couple of years now the Powershell is the way to go.
