T0 and Tarnsport Zone

Hi,

Can I have more than one Transport zone per T1?

Now I understood what you want.

Unfortunately that is not supported. Each T1 can have only 1 overlay TZ. I even tried it out in a lab and it throws an error: [Routing] Downlink ports of Logical router must belong to same overlay transport zone. Port 5e7ec41b-a7f7-4b04-a68e-4da4e14fc4f9 belong to transport zone ae20566d-f93d-4518-9e18-04d23a901da7 and logical router overlay transport zone is f1e06c70-8d45-4a99-b68c-27880bff979d (Error code: 10060)

Technically the Edge node is the connected to the transport zones, not the routers itself (although they use the edge nodes TZ+NVDS).

The title for your question mentions T0, but I actually think you meant to ask for T1, which makes more sense as we have many examples of T0 connecting to multiple TZ in the design document.

You can configure a service port that is actually on a VLAN, hence you would have both an Overlay-TZ and a VLAN-TZ on the same T1.

Many thanks

As you said my question meant for T1. So I can reform my question in this way.

I have 3  OverlayTransport zones, Test, Dev and Prod. Can I connect those 3 Overlay Transport zones to single T1? Or I must have 3 T1 ?

I think you might be using the wrong term when you mention transport zone. Transport zone is actually the span that the logical switches (segments from 2.4) will have. If you are actually referring to logical switches when you say test, dev and prod, then yes, they can all be on the same T1. You can have up to 1000 interfaces on a T1 according to configmax.

Does this answer your question or are asking something else?

Thanks again

In my case I don,t want to present some logical switches(segments) to some clusters. That is why I am thinking to have different transport zone Test for test cluster,Dev for dev cluster and prod TZ for proud clusters.

I am aware that TZ span segments over the transport nods or clusters (in my case vSphere clusters). That why came my question Can I connect those 3 Overlay Tz to One T1

Thank you .

Yes I got the same error. Is it limitation on T0 och T1 or both T0 or just T1 can have only 1 overlay TZ ?

At least until current 2.4 release each edge node can only be a member of 1 overlay TZ, so you will not be able to do this with T0 either.
