vSan stretched cluster recovery from multiple component failure

We have 8 nodes vsan stretched cluster, 4 nodes on preferred site, 4 nodes in secondary and third site for witness vm

Is it possible to recover cluster and vms if we permanently loss preferred or secondary site and witness vm?

Hello Zurat

No, as regardless of what Storage Policy you had applied you could not have quorum (other than for data with just local protection and residing on the remaining site but that's not what you are asking here assumedly).

*Potentially* (depending on numerous factors) a data-recovery specialist or GSS could make functional data from the data on the remaining site but there are absolutely no guarantees regarding this.

And before you ask, yes there's a feature request outstanding to allow for the recovery of data in this scenario. It is not as easy as it sounds though, so I don't have a timeline for you.
