Upgrading Windows vCenter 6.0 with external SQL DB to VCSA 6.7

I will be upgrading my Windows vCenter 6.0 with an external SQL DB to VCSA 6.7 in the next few days. I have been unable to locate any documentation on how to handle the upgrade with an external SQL DB.  I understand that I need to run the Migration Assistant and then run the installer which will transfer your data from your Windows vCenter but does that include transferring the data from the external SQL DB?

The SQL database is picked up and converted automatically by the migration utility. There isn't a separate step you have to take for that.

Unless I'm missing something, the upgrade doesn't care about whether a local, or external DB is used by the Windows vCenter Server.

Not that the installer must not be launched from the vCenter Server system, because this one will be shut down during the migration.
