I have 3 esxi host and host Each esxi host has 85% memory usage. I can't be sure I should get physical memory. how do I know? these values are the value used or the value assigned to the virtual machines. I have vrealize operation manager in the infrastructure. is it right to look at the use of memory from there? some virtual machines are given 30 GB, but when I look at the vrealize it uses 20 gb. This value is where I should look at memory usage. According to it. I must to buy memory or I don't need
thanks
.
Host | Cores per CPU | # Cores | CPU usage % | # Memory | Memory usage % | vRAM |
esx1 | 10 | 20 | 15 | 262,050 | 81 | 259,096 |
esx2 | 10 | 20 | 24 | 262,050 | 84 | 294,912 |
esx3 | 10 | 20 | 14 | 262,050 | 85 | 263,192 |
any idea ?
I would plan to upgrade memory all the same.
Just look at what VROps tells you is being used, 80/85% used probably means that you have a lot of RAM provisioned to VMs and the VMs during boot touched all the pages during the zero out process most OS'es run. Could easily be that only half of that memory is being used actually. So don't look at vCenter, look at VROps for details.
Which menu should look exactly at the vrops. I'm using vrops 7. can you write a step by step the menu on vrops if I don't bother you.
thanks
