horizon apps

How do I replace citrix with horizon? I am already running horizon view but not all users are on horizon view. what is horizon apps?

does that leverage MS terminal server and does the user have to be on horizon view before they can launch apps?

  • How do I replace citrix with horizon?    - Run a migration project for your users, from one environment to another,

deally you'd create logon scripts to copy over users profile data such as Documents, Desktop, Favorites. this simplifies your work later.

Factor in any changes of hardware, working habits or External access that may change and start educating the user base how this will effect them..

depending on your use case you may just want to consider running Vmware Appvolumes.

  • yes you can host a Application  "RDS Farm"within Catalogs. this uses a windows server and connects to view, whereby you publish applications to the Horizon Workspace.
  • does the user have to be on horizon view before they can launch apps? -  no from your Workspace app the user could launch what ever resource you have given them access to in the catalog.
  • Desktop or application.
